An ARCO is an Anti-Racism Contact Officer and every public school in NSW has one. The ARCO has to be a teacher who is highly respected by students, staff, parents and carers of the school community who has strong communication and interpersonal skills. At Fort Street, our ARCO is Akiko Ganivet, who teaches the lovely Lavender class. The main role of an ARCO is to promote anti-racism education, whole also monitor incidents of racism.
