NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.
The Special Religion Education (SRE) and Special Education Ethics (SEE) programs at Fort Street Public School are delivered every Wednesday at 9 am.
SRE classes are currently available for the following groups:
Anglican (K-2 and 3-6)
https://whysre.com.au/sre-curriculum/cep-curriculum-overview/
Catholic (Years K-2 and Years 3-6)
https://ccd.sydneycatholic.org/publications/curriculum-resources/
SEE is currently available for the following groups:
Primary Ethics (2, 3-4 and 5-6)
https://primaryethics.com.au/
Currently no SEE Kindergarten class is available.
If you would like to volunteer, please contact Primary Ethics.
Please visit the above links if you would like more information, or to access the curriculum, for each of our SRE/SEE offerings. Students who do not wish to participate in SRE/SEE classes can enrol in non-scripture classes where they will undertake meaningful activities, such as reading, drawing or developmental play, supervised by a Fort Street teacher.
Fort Street students will continue in the same class as the previous year, unless a parent/caregiver has requested a change.
Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.
