Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

Welcome to Fort Street Public School, set atop Observatory Hill amidst the rich history of Millers Point and the iconic Rocks. Our unique location offers students authentic learning experiences both locally and across Sydney. As a proud co-educational community of around 300 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, we celebrate cultural diversity and uphold high expectations for academic achievement through contemporary, student-centred teaching practices.

At Fort Street, we foster a supportive and respectful environment where resilience, care, and excellence guide everything we do. We encourage self-motivation, independence, and thoughtful reflection to prepare students for future success. Our vibrant community values personal growth, positive attitudes, and meaningful recognition in a safe, joyful setting where every child is known and supported to reach their full potential. Thank you for exploring our school community.

Warm Regards,

Ms Michele Peel-Yates, Principal
