Classes

We're thrilled to welcome back all our students to our fantastic new location on Observatory Hill! It was an exciting time for all our students and families on the first day as they explored the redevelopment.

The new and upgraded school includes new learning environments for the next generation of young minds. These new spaces offer flexibility where teachers can provide more opportunities for student engagement, and are known as Learning Hubs.

The Learning Hubs:

  • are organised by Stage Groups (Early Stage 1 - Kindergarten; Stage 1 - Years 1 and 2; Stage 2 - Years 3 and 4; Stage 3 - Years 5 and 6).
  • have either 3 or 4 teachers per Hub.
  • enable students to come together into learning groups based on current assessments and teacher data for English and Maths. Organisation for the remaining curriculum learning areas has been based on teacher data and student sociability skills.
  • are adaptable to accommodate small or large groups. These groups are determined internally via school-based assessments, and externally via mandatory state and national assessments.
  • provide accessibility to new technology in a variety of settings.
  • encourage a personalised learning experience so students learn at their level and pace.
  • will have the same teacher on a group for a whole term. Student progress will be assessed each term.
  • behaviour management remains unchanged with the following policies still in effect - NSW DoE Student Behaviour Policy and the Behaviour Code for Students. These policies provide direction and guidance on supporting and managing safe, responsible and respectful student behaviour in NSW public schools.

We look forward to an enriching year filled with learning and enjoyable experiences at our school.
