Fort Street Public School representatives performed at an outstanding level at the 2023 Multicultural Perspective Public Speaking Competition's local finals at Stanmore Public School on 5 June.
Harrison (Lime) spoke confidently about the benefits of playing sports, while Sam (Lime) won the Stage 2 competition with his convincing speech about growing up in a multicultural community. He will go on to the next round and the date for it will be announced shortly.
Leopold (Amber) spoke enthusiastically about the issues with everyday racism and Ines (Amber) persuaded the audience that gender inequality still pervades our society.
The impromptu speeches were about 'Mistakes (Stage 2)' and 'Cutting Corners (Stage 3)'. Suffice to say our finalists were critical of both topics!
