Wellbeing includes measures such as:
- expectations for success – school staff emphasising academic skills and hold high expectations for all students to succeed
- advocacy – students having someone to consistently provide encouragement and offer advice
- sense of belonging – students feeling accepted and valued by their peers and by others at their school
Fort Street prides itself on being an inclusive and caring environment. It’s great to see Fort Street students recognising the care and compassion of their teachers and fellow students.
Other highlights of the student TTFM survey
Fort Street students far surpass NSW Government norms in terms of positive behaviour at school (FSPS: 96%, NSW: 83%) and bullying (FSPS: 13%, NSW: 36%). Participation in extracurricular activities is another highlight (FSPS: 74%, NSW: 55%).
Fort Street students are also happy with their teachers. When it comes to students ranking how teachers set clear goals for learning, establish expectations, check for understanding and provide feedback, Fort Street rates 8.4 compared to the NSW norm of 7.5.
Students will complete the TTFM survey again this year in Term 2.
